Your Highness stars Franco and Danny McBride as two spoiled and arrogant princes in the medieval times, who are forced to go on a quest to save their family when a wizard runs havock and terror through the kingdom. Hilarity ensues... it'll be awhile before this one comes to theaters but in the meantime you can catch the beautiful & very talented James in Howl which is currently filming with an amazing cast...Paul Rudd, Mary Louise Parker, Jeff Daniels, Eric Roberts and more...about the Alan Ginsberg trial because of his taboo poem..Howl. It will be released in 2010 :)
I think this week's book pick is very self explanatory on why it's awesome...the cover...and while I always believed never judge a book by its cover, those books were never titled Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. That's right this novel takes my favorite tale of Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy and throws in some undead, how can you go wrong?Unbeknown to the long gone Austen, her collaboration with Seth Grahame-Smith is sure to bring new life (or maybe a little more death) to this classic novel...irresistible to say the least!
Chelsea Handler, the awesomely talented comedian, has signed on to do her E! show Chelsea Lately until at least 2012! I can't get enough, she is awesome, honest, and hits the mark when it comes to making fun of all things hollywood, between her and Joel Mchale on The Soup I am very satisfied with the channels generous dose of sarcasm.
Shall We Kiss? seems like it would be a treat to catch! The film contains some beautifully and delicately shot scenes and an interesting plotline. It unfolds around two individuals who are married...to other people. When they meet coincidentally the decision on whether to kiss and leave forever or leave it as a mere flirtation arises. With a romantic dialogue that only the French really can express this one opens this weekend in limited release. Check out the trailer below:
Having grown up in a household where we owned every episode of The Three Stooges on VHS, and later on on DVD, knowing every detail on the iconic comedians lives, it excites me and worries me to hear there is Stooges movie in the making. The slated stars are Benicio Del Toro as Moe, Sean Penn as Larry, and Jim Carey as Curly. Carey is actually said to be gaining alot of weight to play the rotund comedian. I hope it comes out good! Release is slated for some time in 2010.
Elegy is the story of an unlikely relationship between a young twenty something woman and her fourty year senior professor. The film stars Penelope Cruz and Ben Kingsley and it is simply a wonderful piece to watch. The ending is a bit lacking in originality but if you missed this movie in its limited release in theaters this fall then I definitely recommend renting it now.

Glee a new musical dramedy will premiere its pilot episode on May 19th after an episode of American Idol on Fox. The series is getting great reviews among critics with its unique style & plotline. Glee centers on a high school teacher that revamps his old high school glee club. With the possibilities of Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth appearring in recurring roles on the show, the musical side should definately hold up. Sounds interesting!
Public Enemies, coming to theaters this July, released a titillating trailer this week! The film has a very awesome cast which includes Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Billy Crudup, Marion Cotilard, Channing Tatum, Leelee Sobieski, and many more kickass actors. The film follows the story of John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, and Pretty Boy Floyd, notorious gangsters, who are being hunted by the Feds during a crime wave in the 1930s. Its still far away but I am already excited! Trailer!
Justin Timberlake is producing a 12 episode reality show called The Phone on MTV. The show which will be a competition/race to the finish with $50,000 awaiting there is set to premiere April 21st at 10pm. As long as there is a lot of Justin in it as well I'm in for at least DVRing!
Alexander Payne (Sideways) is said to be finishing his script Downsizing. The film is set to star Paul Giamatti as a man who decides his life would be much easier if he could make himself smaller, so he begins a process that would shrink him. In this social satire Reese Witherspoon plays one of the people he meets along the way and Sacha Baron Cohen will play a tiny foreigner.
In an exclusive engagement director Marco Ferreri's Dillinger is Dead is playing in NYC. Check it out if you can...the film was originally released in 1969 and developed a controversial buzz about Ferreri's sense of satire. The themes in his movies are said to be very taboo and this movie is right up there with the rest. It follows a man named Glauco who looking to escape his middle class and mondane life finds release and freedom when he finds a revolver wrapped in newspaper announcing that notorious bank robber John Dillinger has died. The movie is loaded with social commentary that is witty and on point, all to a great 60s pop soundtrack.
