A Remake Worth Watching
The Women comes out Sept. 12th a remake of the 1939 classic starring Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, and Rosalind Russell. The Remake stars Meg Ryan, Eva Mendes, and Annette Bening. It has been modernized by writer-director Diane English (Murphy Brown). The plot is the same though: a woman's world is turned upside down (Ryan) after she finds out her husband has been cheating on her with a salesgirl (Mendes) and she is the last to find out. So she leaves the cheating **** to bond with other gals of high society. This might not appeal to gentlemen since there are none on screen but it definitely will appeal to all who are Sex and the City girls. Literally there are no men in this film but there are appearances from Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Bette Midler.
